don't get you hooked then I honestly don't know what will." LL Book Review

"This is a great book for both adult, teens" Rita Reviews

Did you know Dallas was the third attempt to kill JFK in November, 1963? The Chicago attempt looked just like Dallas except for a different patsy.

Interloping time travelers from the year 2028 -- Emma, a dynamic seventeen-year-old young woman, her impulsive twin brother Ethan, their very special best friend Zak, and an eccentric, well-preserved "baby boomer" inventor A.C. Currant -- spin back the clock to stop the 1963 Chicago assassination of President Kennedy and resurrect the American Dream.

This is a time-traveling road show filled with nostalgia and nastiness, fact and fantasy, and hope for the future. By 2028, decades of official denial and concealment have left Americans with an dystopian empty shell of a country constructed on a foundation of a fictional history. But the quartet from the future is determined to rework the past to improve the future.

They leave the monotonous madness of the year 2028--a time of no privacy, and total government control--and experience the joys and sadness of an earlier, bolder era filled with hope for the future. On the way, they meet Ferrie, Banister, Oswald, the mysterious Umbrella Man, the Three Tramps and other conspiratorial characters. As they travel in the bizarre, bloody world of 1960's American politics, their retro-quest to rescue JFK exposes a stunning new view of the "Crime of the Century".

Based on the actual facts of the Kennedy assassination in Dallas and the recently discovered JFK precursor plot, often called the "JFK Chicago Attempt", Saving JFK tells a story of a team of dedicated young people on a dangerous, exciting and seemingly impossible mission to return to the past to save the President and fix their future.

I like that the book is set slightly in the future.. and if we keep allowing our government to keep trampling all over our rights.. that we are well on our way to becoming a very paranoid nation. With the Government as the most paranoid of them all.

The story is about three teenagers and one much older man who travel back to 1963. They all have their own reasons for going. One teen very much wants to stop the assassination of JFK. Interestingly.. they go back in time to JFK originally being murdered in Chicago.

I don't want to give any spoilers.. Just know.. that the author does a wonderful job of describing in rich detail all that one would experience.. if one could go back in time. From the relaxed manner of the population.. to everyone smoking! lol No one butted into other people's conversations. In fact.. to do so.. was considered EXTREMELY rude. (which it still is)

I'd highly recommend the story for any age group. There's something in this fantastic tale.. for everyone!

Down the rabbit hole you will go on this slide back to the infamous time of the JFK assassination. Feel the tension and heartfelt nostalgia! I thoroughly enjoyed this creative look at the evidence through the eyes of the travelers. I better understood the times of the era and the possibilities of the future. Creatively crafted and fast paced. Don't miss the author's notes at the end!
I am a huge science fiction enthusiast so my review is perhaps a little bias. I do not know all the details of the JFK assassination however since it was a major historical event before my time I always like to hear and learn more about it. This book falls into a favorite category of mine which is historical non-fiction. It is an easy and exciting novel while still being informative. Being a native Chicagoan helps as well since a lot of it takes place in my hometown. The time travel aspect had a new twist to other contemporary ideals. Overall a great read and looking forward to part 2!!!
The story of two twins, Emma and Ethan, their friend Zak and their supervisor Dr Currant. They live in the year 2028, a sterile world where EVERYTHING is monitored and watched. The cold hearted and ever alert governors of the USA are known as MOM. MOM has even gone as far as to put implants into children under the guise of vaccinations. History has been skimmed of anything that doesn't fit MOM's desires. Processed and patched up, the results have been published as an official document "The History Our Past". Doubted by many but not said public. MOM doesn't like 'heresy' or rebellion. As a consequence time travel is banned. This is where our four conspirators come in.

They believe that the reason that their rights are put aside and their opinions crushed began with the assassination of President John Fitzgerald Kennedy, the thirty fifth president of the United States. His assassination is shrouded in mystery. Supposedly killed by ex-marine Thomas Vallee in Chicago in November 1963. Dr Currant doesn't have his prefix for an obscure reason. He's clever enough to of built a time travel machine, illegal on all fronts and therefore hidden underground. Nicknamed timetravelle , the machine is the key to changing the present.

Under the façade of three harmless school students come down on a field trip with their bumbling supervisor they go into the murky depths of the past to discover what really happened and perhaps ultimately change history. With the threat of the so called 'time cops' on their tails, people employed by MOM to apprehend trespassers of the past and bring them back to 2028 for more than a slap on the wrist, they must make their move within twenty eight days of being in 1963 so as not to cause to much of an impact for the time cops to notice.

First things first, the title could be a little less indicative. It makes it sound like general trash fiction and to be honest the book doesn't focus as much on the twins as the title suggests. Simply 'Saving JFK' would have got me hooked. But I suppose 'Time Travel Twins' leaves it open for more books of the same series to be created, perhaps of different historical conspiracies. However, the disappointment stretches only so far is mostly overshadowed by the content.

Aside from the main plot I like the fact that the author, W.Green, had time to weave in some character side stories that lead to some nice surprises at the end. The author seems to be a great fan of the 1960's or if not, at least done extensive research. I don't think I've read a historical fiction book with as much intricate detail as this one. The names of comics, sweet brands and baseball players are thrown around in excess.

The main plot it self is enough to get any reader hooked. If time travel, assassination, history and conspiracies don't get you hooked then I honestly don't know what will. It would be nice to see this book gain some recognition and perhaps a sequel. A long read, perhaps unnecessarily padded out with extra detail, but I personally think that's what gives it character. If historical fiction is your thing, you looking for a good cheap book and the tagline 'cheaper than a cup of coffee and more exciting than an impure thought' interests you then get this book!
This book was interesting, and if the author writes any sequels, I imagine they will get even better as the characters and their world get fleshed out more thoroughly.

My one complaint is the editing. For example, I found it very distracting every time the author missed commas in sentences where there was a direct address. Dozens of times, you'll see something like, "Let's go Emma," instead of, "Let's go, Emma," and the editing gets worse near the end of the book, as other mistakes pop up, such as the use of "we'll" intead of "well" and "who's" instead of "whose".

I hope Mr. Green writes more about these characters. He might consider using a different sub-title, though; "Time Travel Twins" makes it seem like a book for young adults, which this is not, due to some sexual references.
This was a pretty good book, but can't say more without spoiling it.
I'm not much of a science fiction buff, and I didn't really know much about the JFK murder. This was a very interesting way to learn many of the actual details of what happened in November! I liked the way truths and fiction were combined to produce a very entertaining read. The concept of time travel is fascinating, and this books uses it in a way where it seems almost plausible! The characters were interesting and well developed. A good, enjoyable read, especially for someone who may not truly believe what has been told to the public!
This was a quirky read...but fun! For us who lived through the assination of JFK--and BELIEVE in the conspiracy theory--it was a plausable plot/setting. This may not be everyone's cup of tea, but it was different and interesting.
